INTELLIGENT LIVING – MERTEN AT THE ZVEH (GERMAN ASSOCIATION FOR THE ELECTRICAL AND IT TRADE) SPECIAL EXHIBITION
Customers want to save energy and need comfort and security. If you are a tradesman, an engineer in a planning office or an architect and want to have the future in control, you need to be fit in energy efficiency, living comfort and building security today.
The "Intelligent House of the Present" special exhibition at light+building 2008 was designed by specialists for specialists and is supported by the ZVEI (German electrical and electronics industry) "Intelligent Living" initiative and a group of sponsors. All visitors are invited to experience modern living themselves and discover new business ideas for their own companies.
The model of a 160 square meter residential building shows modern, energy-efficient building technology, security and communication technology and the latest multimedia and information technology in eight different rooms on a 1:1 scale. All systems are networked based on KNX and HomeNet.

ELMAR 2008 - THE BRAND AWARD OF THE ELECTRICAL INDUSTRY
Strong brands make markets take off, and are the basis for doing successful business.
ELMAR is the new brand award of the electrical industry. It will be awarded every year by 20 important manufacturers in the electrical industry starting in 2008.
They've combined strengths in the "Electrical brands. Strong partners" initiative. Electrical industry manufacturers consider ELMAR a clear signal: clear commitment to brands.
The new industry award wants to distinguish all the electrical contractors who consider brands important and implement this in a very special way. KNX AWARD 2008 - PRESENTATION AT LIGHT+BUILDING 2008
At the beginning of this year, the International KNX Association called for participants for the KNX Award 2008.
The KNX Award recognises the world's outstanding KNX projects in house and building system technology that are leaders in innovation and technological progress.
The KNX Awards 2008 ceremony will take place on 8 April 2008 at 11:00 am at the KNX Association stand, Hall 8.0, Stand F98 at light+building 2008 in Frankfurt.

UNIVERSAL DESIGN AWARD 2008 FOR M-SMART JUMBO
The first "universal design award" was awarded as part of CeBIT 2008 on 5 March 2008. The international award was also given to renowned companies such as Apple for its revolutionary iPhone, Panasonic and Kaldewei.
As part of the event, Merten received the universal design award 2008 for its M-SMART Jumbo switch. The light switch in XXL format is not a small detail, but rather a bold design element with a maximum number of functional and comfort features. M-SMART Jumbo unites function and a clear language of form which expresses its uniqueness in the surprising size of the product. The M-SMART Jumbo is applied in areas where it can be difficult to use standard-sized switches.
