Energy consumption in buildings can be reduced by up to 70% with the help of ARGUS presence detectors. It detects the presence of persons in the room and simultaneously measures the intensity of the natural light. If the degree of brightness is less than the pre-set value, even the smallest of movements is enough to activate the lighting. However, if the brightness of the surroundings is adequate or if ARGUS does not detect anyone in the room, the lights are switched off once again. Ideal for offices, long corridors and entrance areas.
PRODUCT SOLUTIONS
Some application examples from the Merten product range.
ARGUS Presence The ARGUS presence detector is installed in the ceiling of a room or in the corridor and records the presence of persons within a radius of up to 8 m (at an installation height of 2.50 m) regardless of the ceiling height. When a movement is detected, the lighting is switched on automatically if the amount of daylight is inadequate. At the same time, a second switching channel controls the heating system, the ventilation system and the alarm system depending on whether people are present.
ARGUS Presence system The ARGUS presence system is the ideal solution for continuous monitoring of large rooms or long corridors. Up to 8 inconspicuous sensor heads can be connected in series. Corridors of up to 64 m in length can be monitored and controlled systematically. It can be combined with an extension push-button for manual lighting control, ideal for open-plan offices.
INSTABUS ARGUS Presence INSTABUS EIB ARGUS Presence is used to integrate the demand-dependent control system into the building management system. This also makes available other options for intelligent and economical operation. The optional constant light control makes the most of the possibilities and ensures a high degree of comfort with reduced energy costs for the system.
Flexibility with the surface-mounted housing ARGUS presence detectors can also be surface-mounted using a special housing.
