100 YEARS OF MERTEN - TRADITION AND VISIONS
The company "Merten Brothers" was founded in 1906 as a family company. Even today the company has remained true to its location in the Oberbergisches Land and employs around 600 staff in four factories and seven sales offices in Germany and more than 40 agents worldwide. Merten has made its name internationally with "Solutions for intelligent buildings" and numerous design awards and since June 2006 is an active part of the internationally successful French Schneider Electric Group.

DESIGN PRIZE OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY
Merten has always stood for innovative technology and exclusive design. Most recent recognition: a cool five nominations for the Design Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany: M-SMART ACTIVE WHITE, AQUADESIGN, ANTI-VANDALISM, BED SIDE PANEL and the CD-ROM "Solutions for intelligent buildings".
The design prize is the official design award in Germany and is awarded for excellent product and communication design. Companies cannot apply for this design prize; they can only ever be nominated. So it is the "prize of all prizes".
In addition the extremely robust switch range ANTI-VANDALISM was awarded the MATERIALICA Design Award 2006. An award for the perfect interplay of material, workmanship and design.
